Columbia Asia Hospital Puchong Pink Fun Run “Run For Hope, Run For Her” 2015 In Aid Of Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Private healthcare company, Columbia Asia Hospital - Puchong, organized a charity fun run with a cause, Pink Run 2015, with the theme “Run 4 Hope, Run 4 Her”. The run is a global initiative, in line with Breast Cancer Awareness Month (every October). I was glad I came to give my full support for this meaningful Pink Fun Run in aid of BCWA, not forgetting to meet lovely Lorraine who did a great job for this event to run smoothly that Sunday morning.

It's not easy I know, what to say for tough times like this with the economy slowing down recently but kind and good Malaysians still exist in Malaysia, be it the Chinese, Malay or Indians who did our very best to contribute back to society and for the unfortunate ones. Every little help makes a lot of difference actually. Held at The Cube, IOI Galleria, Bandar Puteri Puchong last Sunday, this first year’s power-packed and energetic event saw the attendance of close to 1,000 participants. It also raised RM20,000.00 which will be used to aid Breast Cancer Welfare Association.

Columbia Asia’s CEO Mr. Kelvin Tan said, “This is indeed a great achievement not only for us at Columbia Asia, but for the many Malaysians who are here today to support breast cancer awareness. The Pink Charity Fun Run is the hospital’s first charity run project aimed to raise funds for underprivileged patients’. It is also to support BCWA in various educational and community endeavours.

The Pink Charity Fun Run was officiated by Deputy Minister of Health, YB Dato’ Seri Dr. Hilmi Yahaya. The run has two(2) categories, the Men’s Open & Women’s Open 5km & 7KM respectively.

Breast cancer is a major global health problem and the leading cause of death among women of all ethnic backgrounds. Each year, an estimated 1.6 million new cases are diagnosed worldwide. The Pink Fun Run took on a fun-run theme which included an aerobic warm up session led by Gorgeous Fitness instructors. Participants were also treated to a mini bazaar and a lucky draw session after the run.
