In support of Malaysia Environment Week (Minggu Alam Sekitar), Guardian
Health and Beauty (Guardian) launched its ‘Bring Your Orange Bag’ or ‘BYOB’ campaign
in Malacca today. In conjunction with the occasion, a series of three reusable
bags, exclusively designed for Guardian were revealed to an excited audience at
Dataran Pahlawan Megamall, Malacca.
The
Guardian BYOB campaign was created from funds collected from its
participation in a nationwide ministry initiative, the No Plastic Bag Day Campaign.
Signifying the three key aspects that best represent Guardian‟s values,
the bags are aptly named Trust, Passion and Inspiration.
“Guardian
is firmly committed to conserving the environment and to the community we
operate in. The BYOB campaign is aimed at encouraging customers to
switch from plastic bags to Guardian‟s reusable bags. We all have a role in
ensuring that the environment is kept in good shape for future generations,”
said Guardian Health And Beauty Sdn Bhd, Marketing Director, Christina Low.
Named
Trust, the first bag to be released depicts the reliability of Guardian‟s available
health products. The second bag, Passion, represents confidence and
beauty from the wide range of exclusive beauty products showcased at Guardian.
Completing the collection, Inspiration best describes the fun, overall
well-being and positive-living gained from Guardian‟s assorted
lifestyle accessories.
Present
at the launch was Malaysian actress and host, Deanna Yusoff, who shared with
the audience her environmental-friendly shopping habits. “I have been
practicing using reusable bags for many years,” said Deanna. “And so I'm very happy
to lend my support to this cause which I believe in,” she added.
Deanna also presented prizes to
winners of Guardian‟s Final
Challenge which involved a find-the-word puzzle. A total of 10 contestants
selected from BYOB‟s 4-day Facebook
contest took part in the Final Challenge in Malacca. Prior to the launch, Final
Challenge contestants were asked to guess the acronym BYOB’.
The
Final Challenge winner received RM500 worth of Guardian vouchers, a hamper
valued at RM200, and an exclusive goodie bag. Other prizes included RM100
Guardian shopping vouchers and goodie bags. Each finalist also received an
exclusive photo and autograph session with Deanna Yusoff.
In
closing, Christina Low said, “We are constantly looking for ways to offer our
shoppers the best health and beauty shopping experience with campaigns that
have relevance to our customers. Most importantly, we want to foster trust
between our shoppers and Guardian. We are always passionate and inspired to
continue bringing our shoppers unique shopping experiences through our products
and promotional campaigns.”
As
part of the grand launch, Guardian stores in Malacca received an early-release
of the Trust bag. The nationwide release will be spread over a
three-week period, beginning 29 October to 4 November 2015 for Trust.
This will be followed by Passion, from 5 to 11 November 2015; and
finally Inspiration from 12 to 18 November 2015.
During
this period, a total of 150,000 reusable bags await lucky shoppers. The bags
will be distributed free-of-charge with every purchase of RM80 and above on a
single receipt, and limited to one (1) bag per transaction. CIMB cardholders
will be eligible for a special privilege of one bag with every minimum purchase
of RM60 on a single receipt. The bags will be available at all Guardian outlets
nationwide.
In
