Resorts World Genting 'SnowWorld Springtime Wonderland' & A Brand New Dining Concept At 'The Food Factory'

The Genting International Children's Festival will be in full swing these school holidays at Resorts World Genting. The new restaurant offers more than just great food, children especially would be thrilled to watch the chefs at work, using extraordinary machinery to make food.

A brand new dining concept located on the 3rd Floor of First World Plaza, The Food Factory covers 23,568 sq ft and comes with an open kitchen equipped with some heavy-duty kitchen gadgets. Designed specially to cater for tour groups and MICE market, the restaurant can accommodate up to 1,300 diners at one time and is normally open for breakfast.

The special feature at The Food Factory during these school holidays is this High Tea buffet from March 12 to 20 and on March 26 and 27, 1pm to 5pm. The High Tea offers great food at just RM10 nett for children between five and 11 years old, and RM38 nett for adults.

The Western Counter is laden with various delicious dishes from seafood platter to assorted salads with condiments, and main dishes that include Roast Rosemary Chicken with Potatoes and Vegetables, Roasted Chicken Roll, Chicken and Lamb Sharwama, Beef and Chicken Burger and Sautéed Pasta with Cream Carbonara Sauce or Bolognaise. Guests can choose from different soups including Cream of Mushroom and Chicken Soup.

The restaurant is named The Food Factory for good reason. With its concept being to cater for 1,300 diners at any one time, food must be quickly made but served fresh. To deliver this, the restaurant has a few “giant” cooking utensils such as a pancake machine and a pizza conveyer machine, both from the US and a machine for making fried rice and noodles that was made in Hong Kong.

The Chinese or East Asian Counter offers sumptuous local favourites such as Fish Ball Noodle Soup, Curry Noodle Soup, Fried Carrot with XO Sauce, Grilled or Deep-fried Yam Roll, Deep-fried Cheese Roll, Chee Cheong Fun, Fried Loh See Fun, Fried Yee Mee, and Dim Sum.

If it’s Asian food you prefer, visit the West Asian Counter where there is a wide variety of
local cuisines such as Malay and Nyonya Kuih, Nasi Lemak with condiments, Roti Jala, Potatoes Samosa, Vegetables Pakoras, Tandoori Chicken, Fish Head Curry, Ayam Masak Merah, Chicken and Lamb Skewer.

For light snackers, there are finger foods such as Margherita Pizza, Chicken Ham Pizza, Toasted Bread with Kaya and Butter, Fried Banana and Sweet Potatoes. Not to mention the many kinds of dessert spreads spoilt for those who are sweet tooth species.

To be honest, I was surprised I actually enjoyed the Sautéed Spanish Sausages and many varieties of food choices served here at The Food Factory. I told Rambo I have found a new Hi-Tea Buffet that I can relax for hours here for good food, great times together with my family and friends for gatherings. Even the coffee Latte is not bad and I enjoyed the yummy Yoghurt Ice Cream so much like the other kids.

SnowWorld Springtime Wonderland, clowns, cheerleaders, balloon fest and Old Master Q(one of my favourite Chinese LOL Comic pastime during teenage years), these are the highlights of this year's Genting International Children's Festival that promises to be even bigger and better than before.

The festival sets to start from 12 to 20 March 2016 will thrill both the young and the young at heart, and lovers of carnivals and fairs would not want to miss it. All activities except for the SnowWorld Springtime Wonderland will be extended to 8 May.

It has to be said the Genting International Children’s Festival will be a carnival parade like no other at the Festival this year with a parade of clowns joining cheerleaders and a balloon fest featuring hundreds of balloons in lending a festive atmosphere to one of Resorts World Genting's most exciting annual events.

Guests can look forward to great hospitality and conviviality at various locations in the resort. Along with his friends, Old Master Q, the well-loved comic book character, will deliver a live show daily at the resort. The shows are held at 12pm, 5.30pm and 8pm.

The Main Stage of Times Square where the Old Master Q live show is held, is also the venue for a Clown Comedy show and a dance performance. Children especially would be thrilled to watch as the clowns juggle pins and balls. They can look forward to great Kodak moments with the clowns here.

Over at Universal Walk at First World Plaza, it's balloons and more balloons the balloon fest includes a giant balloon monkey as its centrepiece, a balloon show at the Mini Platform and even a balloon pet shop. There are plenty of photo opportunities here especially with the festival having one of the biggest giant balloons in a shape of a monkey (this being the year of the Monkey). Other eye-catching giant balloon structures depict animals like lion, elephant and hippopotamus are also on display.

But certainly a main highlight of the Genting International Children's Festival is the resort-wide clown fest that features clowns on parade. A total of 16 clowns will spread gaiety and bring merriment to all and sundry and surely would be quite a spectacle to behold. Visitors can get ready for a few great Kodak moments here too. The finale of the parade is at Boulevard at Times Square.

Another venue promising exciting action is Rainforest where a special cheerleading show is scheduled, featuring the award-winning Cheer Aces from Subang Jaya. The cheerleaders will wow spectators with their lively performance and will also conduct a coaching session, teaching guests some simple steps they can take home with them.

The SnowWorld Springtime Wonderland which is organized as part of the Genting International Children’s Festival offers loads of eggs-tra fun activities. During the Easter weekend namely March 25 to 27 on these times 12.30pm, 1.30pm and 2.30pm, get ready to create wonderful memories when participating in the SnowWorld Springtime Wonderland series of eggs-citing activities and adventures. There are many prizes to be won too.

Like the theme suggests, SnowWorld comes alive with numerous pastel-colors, in this case they are all eggs. These eggs are placed at the key photo spots; offering visitors great photo opportunities as they laugh and enjoy in the wintry atsmosphere.

Many eggs-citing fun activities including arts and crafts are in store. Kids are welcomed to join the Egg-venture Hunt to search for the hidden “eggs” or test their skills at Eggs Rolling for a unique experience.

Guests may also want to take the challenge presented by Eggs-cellent Memory Match. It’s definitely cool and fun while building one’s memory and memorizing skills. No less exciting is Eggs-citing Arts & Crafts: children get to learn to make something unique using their creativity and imagination.

Lastly, take a guess at the Guess the Eggs Eggs-exercise to stand a chance to win a FREE 2D1N stay in First World Hotel for your next visit! It’s simple yet so fun by just submitting your answer with a photo of yourself with the Eggs Jar to Resorts World Genting Facebook or Instagram and hash tag #SWGuessTheEggs. Three lucky winners with the correct answer or the nearest correct answer will be randomly selected.

Three lucky winners with the correct answer or the nearest correct answer will be randomly selected. Good Luck and have fun at the SnowWorld just like I did last weekend with my blogger friends. Time really flies you know, the 1st time I stepped in this SnowWorld was 14 years ago when my dear Ying Shan was barely 1 year old yet. We took turns to bring her in and out of here because it was freezingly cold at minus 5 degree. It was fun and full of lovely memories back then in my 20's but this year I'm 40 liao. Haha...Life is good and smooth!
