2-A-Day Dutch Lady Milk The Best Gift For Your Family

Dutch Lady Milk Industries Berhad (Dutch Lady Malaysia) today introduced a campaign that advocates Malaysian families to drink two servings of milk daily as part of a balanced diet. Titled 2-a-Day Milk. Haha...I've been telling my dear Lynette to take 2 Dutch Lady milk everyday and she replied me "Ok, will do!" And from time to time, I reminded her again and again just to be sure she remembers to take her 2-a-day milk.

The best gift for your family, the campaign points to drinking two servings of milk daily to reap from its nutritious benefits and more importantly, to help address nutritional gaps in Malaysian children found in SEANUTS or South East Asian Nutrition Survey. Even for adults like me, I'm taking a cup of milk together with my morning coffee and a cup of Dutch Lady Yoghurt to keep me healthy everyday.

Speaking at the campaign launch, Ms Jo-Anne Jayasiri, Marketing Manager of Dutch Lady Malaysia, highlighted that milk is a great source of nutrition for Malaysian families. “Milk is an affordable and one of the most nutritionally complete sources of nutrition for the family, helping children to grow and develop while maintaining strong bones and muscles for adults,” she said.

“However, Malaysians are not drinking enough milk,” remarked Jo-Anne. She explained that according to the 2003 Malaysian Adult Nutrition Survey (MANS), Malaysians are only taking 0.14 servings of milk and dairy products a day, which is basically one small glass per week, as compared to the Malaysian Dietary Guideline recommendation of one to three servings per day.

“As the leading milk manufacturer in Malaysia, we see it our responsibility to contribute to the nutritional health of Malaysians and to help them build strong families. The 2-a-Day campaign is our effort to educate and encourage Malaysians to drink milk to an amount that is in accordance to Malaysian Dietary Guideline in order to reap its nutritious benefits,” said Jo-Anne.

She was also happy to announce that Dutch Lady Malaysia has partnered Nutrition Society of Malaysia and celebrity Aaron Aziz and his family to educate Malaysian families on the goodness of milk and how easy it is to incorporate two servings in Malaysian families’ daily diet.

“Families will be informed and educated through media platforms and on-ground roadshows on their nutrition status. They will also be advised by qualified nutritionists on how to incorporate two servings of milk daily as part of a balanced diet,” she said.

Representing the Nutrition Society of Malaysia at the campaign launch was Professor Norimah Karim, honorary secretary of the local nutritionist fraternity and head of programme for Human Nutrition at the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia School of Healthcare Sciences. “Milk is versatile as it comes in a form that is ready to be consumed, complements other foods and beverages, and is suitable for the whole family,” explained Prof. Norimah.

Referring to findings of SEANUTS, which indicates nearly half of the children studied are lacking in Vitamin D and one out of 20 are undernourished, Prof. Norimah said, “For undernourished children, drinking two servings of milk a day can ensure they don’t miss out on essential nutrients required daily,” she added. This Chocolate milkshake blended with Vanilla Ice Cream was so delicious, I took 2 cups of it and still craving for more of it.

She also explained that Vitamin D is important to both adults and children as it helps with the absorption of calcium in our body. “No matter how much calcium we consume through our diet, they will not be sufficiently utilised without adequate Vitamin D. In severe cases, Vitamin D deficiency can lead to rickets, a disease in which the bone tissue doesn't properly mineralize, leading to soft bones and skeletal deformities.”

“To address Vitamin D insufficiency, children should spend more time outdoors to allow the body to produce vitamin D naturally. Besides that, parents can look at their dietary intake to ensure they have enough Vitamin D.As Vitamin D is fat soluble, we can only obtain it from fishes like mackerel (ikan kembung), sardines, salmon, egg yolk and milk fortified with Vitamin D,” said Prof. Norimah.

For parents who look to Vitamin D-fortified milk, her advice is to read the nutrition labels for information. “We need about five micrograms of Vitamin D in a day according to the Ministry of Health (MOH)’s recommended nutrition intake (RNI). So, ensure the milk you choose is well-fortified with right level of Vitamin D,” she added.

Dutch Lady Malaysia’s Corporate Nutritionist Loo Mei Fong, who was also present at the campaign launch spoke about the goodness of Dutch Lady Pure Farm milk, highlighting that two servings of Dutch Lady Pure Farm milk contains the amount of Vitamin D recommended by the MOH.

Actor Aaron Aziz may be known for his heroic and romantic personas on TV, but in real life, he is a family man with a beautiful wife and three children Danish, Dwi and Dahlia, who are aged 11, nine and five, respectively. As the newly appointed ambassador for Dutch Lady PureFarm’s 2-a-Day campaign, he was present at the campaign launch with his wife Diyana Halik.

“Diyana and I have three children and they are at ages when they still need good nutrition to support their growth and development. So nutrition is one of the priorities we look at for them,” said Aaron.

“We drink milk all the time.Especially for the children, we make it a point to cultivate the habit of drinking milk since young, and one of their favourite snacks is the Dutch Lady PureFarm Chocolate or Strawberry-flavoured milk,” said Diyana.

She added: “But we were not aware that we should drink two servings or glasses a day. So we were very keen to participate in this campaign to help highlight that to all the mums out there.”

“Milk brings my family together. Despite our busy lifestyles, my wife and I always ensure we have breakfast together as often as possible. Not only that, milk is a great beverage to have for breakfast and we usually talk to our kids over breakfast, helping each other to start the day right,” disclosed Aaron.

MyORTHO Orthopedic Healthy Feet Public Talk

Just like a car that needed 4 tyres to move around, I only need a pair of healthy feet to walk, run and jumping around that I treasure a lot nowadays. All of us came to the right place and at the right time of 2.30pm attending this Healthy Feet Public Talk that Saturday because without having a pair of healthy feet, we are going nowhere that's for sure.

Everywhere I go now, I tend to wear my comfy socks to keep my feet comfortable and away from dirt, impurities and roughness of the shoes I'm wearing no matter how branded or expensive the shoes can be. It's still rough for my delicate skin on my feet, so it's better to be safe than sorry. I only wanted my feet to feel comfortable, clean and able to walk smooth like an angel.

Even if I looked weird in wearing a nice dress with slippers also I didn't care or mind anymore that day in Macau holiday because all I care at that moment was I can still walk, run and jump like an active girl I used to be. During my Macau tour whole day through from am to pm, I changed to slipper in the afternoon, and I told my mom and sisters who asked about my fashion sense, I replied them "I prefer to have Meng(live a life) rather than Leng(beauty), 'Yiu Meng Emm Yiu Leng' liao because my feet hurts like nobody's business.

In Malaysia, I usually drive around and will park at the entrance of the shop or park at valet sometimes or park directly infront of the hotel lift, so I need not walk much. There's no way I will walk far or wearing my high heels to walk such great distance to reach a place. And I'm not supposed to wear those tight shoes anymore after Datin Emily told me that day my right foot is coming to form a little bunion if I keep on wearing tight shoes.

The world is so unfair sometimes, JJ told me she didn't wear any high heels at all, only wearing flats like the one she showed me but she's having problem with her feet. She's a customer of MyORTHO, wearing Dr.Kong's shoes to treat her bunions. And I told her I was not supposed to wear the tight green yellow shoes also, should keep it for decoration after this event.

Haha...I'm like that kinda girl who's motivated to change for good when I'm surrounded with this kinds of healthy learning care, I'll be brain-washed to listen and learn for real. Then during break time while I was having a cup of hot tea, I met this Malay Blogger who came to say Hi to me and we talked for awhile after exchanging namecards. She also told me she's suffering in so much pain everyday when she woke up.

I symphatized with her feet condition and I advised her to wear the Japanese Ebene socks day and night 24 hours a day. I remember I shared this healthy feet tips with Datin Emily before in the last Healthy Feet Event at One Utama, she totally agreed with the way I'm taking good care of my petite feet of Size 3. Izzati then thanked me saying it's a good advise that she would proceed to buy the socks as soon as possible and I was glad I was able to help what I could.

In fact, I've been telling Rambo and many others that nowadays I prefer to wear an Orthotics Insole for sport shoes, Boots or even high heels also because I feel more comfortable and can walk faster also. Maybe due to my mild high arch feet, the Orthotics Insole actually helped to correct and support the malalignment of my feet. It's the most effective way I would say!

Every year I went for Healthy Feet Check because I believe that good health begins from the feet itself. The 1st time I went for my foot check was by Edmund himself at the Health In The City event, last year I went to Tropicana MyORTHO Branch and this year I went for two healthy feet checkups already, just to be sure my feet are still in good condition and healthy enough.

Almost everyday I heard many stories from kids, aunties and friends been telling me they have problem with their feet. They cannot stand properly, they cannot walk much and they need to wear only certain shoes to be able to walk a little. They've been suffering in silence or aloud for many years already. I totally understand their feelings and predicaments, I know it's hard to cure back pain problem, slip disc, feet or knee pain that can take forever to cure.

Rambo used to massage my feet every night before I sleeps in the past few years. He always prepared aromatherapy saltwater for me to pamper my tired feet dipped under the hot bubbles water for blood circulation, but now I no longer need all that anymore. For healthy feet tips and updates, check out https://www.facebook.com/drkongmalaysia?fref=ts

It's a reminder and a booster of memory for me that Saturday afternoon having to listen and learn all about feet from Dato' Edmund Lee. You may not realize how important to have a pair of precious healthy feet in your life until you almost losing it or having broken bone like Ng, one of Rambo's colleague. Now she treasured her feet like her golden treasure after a minor accident and taking good care of her feet seriously.

One of the lucky draw winner at this public talk, aunty at her age of 70's I heard from my left sitting neighbour. I just wish I can still walk or run at her age if I ever live that long. Haha...I'm not greedy in life, I only wanted to stay healthy and happy of my body, mind and soul and from top head to bottom toe as well. That's life!

Life Is A Story, Make Yours The Best Seller

Life is short. Never ever give up in life too easily, strive and thrive harder and excel the best you can 'Chung Po' from deep within you. You are worth to live the fullest life like anybody else, nobody can take that away from you. Love from the author of Evergreen Love. Everyday I have so many lovely stories to tell or share with the whole world, be it among my family and friends or about myself, but I was too busy recently so bear with me.

Once I can find some time, I'll try to blog about it no matter how short the story can be. The reason why I am so 'Gam Chuk' (deep feeling) about life and I needed to share all about it is because Datuk J's mother has just passed away in September. She was admitted to private hospital about a week only due to lung infection and passed away peacefully after ICU scare, following her hubby who passed away just 2 years ago.

I still remember she used to shower me with sweet compliments, from looking gorgeous in Red Chinese New Year Dress to looking pretty when we meet, although she had 3 lovely daughters who are 'Hao Fa', pretty ones famously known around Jinjang area. They're all good friends with Rambo+Sis Toto family for years liao. Celine is one of her pretty daughter who always liked my pictures on Facebook, Datuk J her son too in which I did my best to do the same thing.

My Uncle Gudeh who used to teach me speak Hainanese and playing musical instruments like Violin passed away 2 years ago. 'Sumbang bunyinya' because I can't play Violin, but my Uncle Gudeh can have it all played under his superb talent real beautifully, flawlessly and effortlessly like Vanessa Mae. I used to admire seeing him play the Violin, and after so many times he patiently taught me step-by step, I just didn't have the talent to play the Violin like him, 'Suan Le Ba' I told myself. A real remarkable lovely memories with him.

So he taught me playing the 'Guzheng', one of the most beguiling Chinese musical instrument that I can play when I was young and I enjoyed playing it because it's therapeutically relaxing for me. I find it very soothing with calming Chinese music, but I didn't play it for many years already. I missed my Uncle Gudeh so much because I remember all of his flourishing good deeds to me, 'sayang' me since I was little, very supportive of me and treated me like one of his daughters for years already.

My Bro Ahboy reminisced, sharing with me that day my Uncle Gudeh passed away peacefully in his sleep, he said that Gudeh used to give me RM2 while both my sis Defney and him were getting RM1 every Tuesday for Pasar Malam shopping. "Really?", I asked him and my sis Defney seconded that, "Yes!" I totally forgot about it, I replied them honestly. In our Lim Family, we're all very attached since we're staying close together for years, that's why 3 of us stayed with my uncle, accompanying him before he was taken away by Nirvana for bath.

I learn to let go of my sad feelings having to lose my beloved Uncle Gudeh, blissfully so he can leave the world peacefully as the funeral service agent has advised all of us to stay in the kitchen and never to look at them when they carried my Gudeh away from us. There's a pantang in Chinese customary death practice that we need to follow, it's entirely for the good sake of my Uncle Gudeh passing away ritual so it will go on smoothly ever after. Besides my Gudeh, I have another 3 friends who shared the same birthday 9th of Sept with him.

In fact during the Buddhist Amituofo chanting session, besides Rambo, I also did the chanting many times for him from my seat. His 3 kids obviously have to bow, following every chanting ritual to pay their last respects to him. On his departure day also, I went and picked his 'Guat Fui' - bones and ashes before the last final prayer for him at Nirvana. I respect and loved my Uncle Gudeh just like a dad to me because he always care and loving us generously.

In all my life, I always believe to respect, love and care those who are still alive and those who treasure me very much. Life is just a passing by living in this world, temporarily for 60 years or longer. Some even have left us earlier to heaven like my bestie Joyce, some are still surviving in life and some are doing their best to live life to the fullest they can. Just like me, I'm living my life everyday like today is my last day and tomorrow is gonna be a brand new day to start a new life, to do better each day and the best that I could.

Just like last Saturday, I met Coco who asked me excitedly, "How's your Dining In The Sky experience?" I was so surprised and asked her how she got to know about it? She told me she saw my comment on Facebook and keep pushing me to share my wonderful experience of dining in the sky with her because she told me she's sick now, she's no longer working in the boutique and wanted to go for this RM899 Dining In The Sky but too bad, it was fully booked liao.

She also knew that they have stopped the DITS operation by the end of September month, she was so heartbroken. I tried to soothe her heart by asking her to look forward for their next plan since the RM399 Mooncake session also fully booked. In the meantime, I advised her to take good care of her health 1st and healed it fast. Everyday, we are struggling to cope with our busy lifestyles to achieve success, we may overlooked 'So Fat' our most precious wealth of all, that is our health sometimes. Life is not all about achieving goals all the time.

You know, life is so ironic that everyday wherever I go, I meet someone whom I know and they called me telling me that I'm Defney's Sister, or even at Ossoto Spa, a girl called me telling me she's Eileen's bestie whom I recognized later. When we meet again for buffet dinner taking selfie together so she can WeChat my sister in Australia, my bestie Jamie asked who's this fan of mine. Haha...I replied her, "Not a fan but a friend of my sis' bestie. It's a small, small world to me indeed!

Even that day in Starbucks Malaysia 200th Opening, I saw this malay guy who looked familiar and he said he remember he used to serve me coffee in Coffee Bean for many years already. Today, he's still serving me coffee but in Starbucks Cafe pulak. Haha...Life is so enriching and enlightening for me. Stay tuned for more sexy stories about my life, now I gotta attend my dear hubby Rambo's manja Lau Gai wanted to buy the latest handphone intown.

Lucky he didn't asked for a new Duplex or Mercedes Benz car to fulfil his alter ego, because nowadays I tend to 'Sun Hui Yi' by giving him the freedom of green lights to buy whatever things he wanted recently. If not, he'll go on ear wiggling me by saying "Having money is to spend on the things you need or like, not for 'Bai Leng' (decorate) your bank account with numbers or many zeros that's not gonna make you happy" which is true, making sense to me. That's why I raised a White Flag to him, admitting my defeat willingly & joyfully. That's life!
