Kuala
Lumpur’s hottest urban hub for art and creativity, Avenue K will be holding its
very first Spring/Summer fashion and beauty celebration aptly named Fashionably AK from 30th May to 1st June 2014. The trendy inaugural affair will showcase an array
of the newly refurbished shopping mall’s international and Malaysian fashion
brands.
To
kick off the first preview of the public weekend shows, 21 brands were
showcased during the afternoon launch on Friday, 30th May 2014 at
2.00pm. Avenue K’s invited guests and media enjoyed an opening celebration to
kick off the weekend with entertainment by headlining DJ, Farez Khan of DANGERDISKO.
MUJI, Dressing Paula, Cotton On, Kitschen and MIDI were among the participating
brands, whose descriptions are as follows.
MUJI
Through
the careful selection of materials, streamlining manufacturing processes, and
simplifying
packaging, MUJI has continually introduced high quality MUJI brand products
onto the market, at lower than usual prices. Presently there are more than
7,000 items sold as MUJI products worldwide. MUJI’s natural and simple design

Dressing
Paula
Dressing Paula is the go-to

On

retail chain known for it’s fast-fashion clothing for men, women, teenagers and

has expanded to include intimates, sleepwear and activewear. The Cotton On
outlet at Avenue K is the largest Southeast Asia and Malaysia respectively.
Kitschen
When it comes to fashion,
youths have a smorgasbord to choose from. They pair different brands to
different styles to achieve a look that satiates their fashion taste. However,
more and more fashion brands are beginning to serve the same, safe flavour
while few offer a variety of style ingredients to cater to their broad palette.
Enter Kitschen, a brand that carries an assortment of styles perfect events for
the pickiest of youths. It is a fashion playground that encourages
experimenting with mix different styles to create your own original fashion
concoction.
MIDI
MIDI is an inspiring, independent label, which
began online by a group of friends with a passion for fashion. It brings a
refreshing range of statement necklaces, unique design choices and a bold color
palate. Electric blue, hot pink and neon colors fill its display units
with a tasteful selection of bags and multipurpose clutches.
