MAMEE DYDO Introduces MAMEE Cool Tea

The largest Malaysian snacks company,MAMEE Double-Decker (M) Sdn Bhd (‘MAMEE’)today announced its joint venture with DyDo DRINCO, INC. (‘DyDo’), one of Japan’s leading non-alcoholic beverage manufacturer to transform the beverage business landscape. MAMEE has long established itself as the leading snacks and noodles manufacturer in Malaysia with favourites such as MAMEE Monster snackMister Potato Chips, and MAMEE Chef.

In fact, I grew up enjoying MAMEE Tomyam Instant Noodle very much and MAMEE snack that I liked to crush into small little bites for total enjoyment. I insisted my mom to get the MAMEE Cup Noodles for our holiday trip to Melbourne-Australia and my latest indulgence of MAMEE Cup Noodle for South Africa trip is the Lontong flavour. The soup is really Ichiban and Oiishi desu ne. Haha...If my Japanese friends are coming to Malaysia, I would definitely recommend this to them for sure and it's gonna be the 1st thing to push by me for MAMEE brand as Malaysian prideful instant good food that will naturally boost up our good mood as well.

MAMEE diversified into producing beverages when MDD Beverage Sdn Bhd a wholly owned subsidiary of MAMEE started bottling international brands and also produced Cheers, a line of fruity flavoured carbonated drinks before venturing into producing cultured milk and yoghurts under brands such as Nutrigen and Lite Yo. With the introduction of the cultured milk products, MAMEE further strengthened its position as a complete brand producing snacks, noodles and beverage.

The collaboration between MAMEE and DyDo today marks another milestone for the beverage business of MAMEE. Both the companies share similar aim of being in the forefront of the food and beverage manufacturing industry. Both companies are also committed towards delivering quality products consistently at an affordable rate.

MAMEE’s reputable brand name and resilient market position in Malaysia as well as internationally make an attractive business partnership for DyDo besides gaining the market influence and local distribution network strength MAMEE has. Halal compliance forms another pull factor as DyDo will be able to increase its market penetration to other Islamic countries in the world through this collaboration.

On the other hand, MAMEE will be able to benefit the high quality standard of Research & Development and the advanced technology of DyDo Group’s pharmaceutical arm, DAIDO Pharmaceuticals Corporation(‘DAIDO Pharmaceuticals’). DAIDO Pharmaceuticals is able to develop new products such as beauty supplements, antioxidant beverages to meet the current trends. The strong, long-standing relationships with ingredients and drug manufacturers enable DAIDO Pharmaceuticals to stay abreast with the latest developments and help produce marketable products that are relevant to the current needs.

Launch of MAMEE DyDo Cool Tea
Constant engagement with consumers to understand their needs drives both DyDo and MAMEE to continuously innovate.Through this collaboration, MAMEE DyDo’s first innovation, MAMEE DyDo Cool Tea, was officially launched at the JV announcement event. MAMEE DyDo Cool Tea is a herbal drink to help keep your body naturally cool from the hot weather and spicy food.

Malaysia is a beautiful tropical country and it is usually very hot and humid.Malaysia is a hub of different cultures, each of which has brought in different flavours to create distinct and vibrant cuisines. Although the weather is usually hot, Malaysian food is mostly hot, spicy, fried or barbecued. Everything in Malaysia revolves around great food. Pleasant social get-togethers are always combined with having a nice meal and Malaysians can be found eating at any time of the day.

MAMEEDyDo understands the obsession of Malaysians over food and that they raise excess heat in one’s body. This is why MAMEE DyDo through this collaboration, spearheaded the production of MAMEE DyDo Cool Tea by combining 8 natural herbal extracts derived from Mesona Chinesis, Liquorice Root, Lotus Leaf, Honeysuckle Flower, Chrysanthemum Flower, Mulberry Leaf, Selfheal and Grosvenor Momordica that are traditionally known to help release body heat.

Herbal tea has been known for their remarkable benefits due to the natural ingredients since ancient days. Many commonly use herbs in drinks and food to speed up circulation and drive heat out of the body. Herbs also help release heat from body by warming the body so that the pores open up and the body cools down through perspiration.

Another great benefit of herbal teas is that they help keep the body hydrated. When the body is heaty, it loses water more rapidly and it’s very important to replace this water loss in the correct way. With MAMEE DyDo Cool Tea, consumers no longer have to worry about making own herbal tea through the complex processes of boiling for hours, sweetening and filtering.

Changing the future of beverage industry in Malaysia
MAMEE DyDo’s innovation will not be limited to just product development. With Dydo’s extensive experience in handling vending machines operations in Japan, it will help change the landscape of vending machine business in Malaysia. MAMEE DyDo has plans to introduce cutting edge vending machine in an effort to ensure convenience and efficient product availability.

With varied work hours and the erratic meal times, vending machines will prove to be a viable convenience at work places, office blocks, educational institutions, public transportation hubs and many other suitable locations. By providing greater variety in F&B options in the vending machines, MAMEEDyDo will set itself apart from other vending machine operators. Plans are also in the pipeline to set up a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant to produce and introduce more functional and nutritional products.

We see strong potential in growing the Ready-To-Drink beverage category in Malaysia and we will be able to leverage on the advanced beverage manufacturing technology and the well-established R&D facility which DyDo can offer. Besides that, expanding on our beverage business will help complement our current snacks and noodles business,” said Pierre Pang, CEO of MDD Beverage at the media launch of MAMEE DyDo Cool Tea.

Consumers will also be able to look forward to game changing beverage categories with the introduction of more innovative beverages as well as functional beverages from MAMEE DyDo as early as next year.
