8TV’s I Wanna Be A Model 2016 Celebrates The Top 16 with World-Class Fashion Show

One of the best reality show that I would spend my precious time to watch is 'I wanna be a Model', be it from the fantastic Chinese version from China, the English version America's Next Top Model or our local Malaysian Rojak mixed culture from 8TV that's for sure. Haha...And I make sure that I have the whole finale Season of the model show only I will watch from the very start to the finish line. I'm very impatient when it comes to watching TV shows, movie or concert as I cannot sit still for long and need to stay active most of the time.

After striving to be head and shoulders above the rest during the two-day auditions that were held in December 2015, only 16 contestants out of the 500 hopefuls were shortlisted for 8TV’s 13-episode modelling reality show, I Wanna Be A Model 2016. In celebrating their successes, the top 16 contestants will be given the opportunity to sashay down the runaway parading the latest designer ensembles with confidence at Avenue K Shopping Mall.During the grand finale that will take place in July 2016, the top 4 finalists (2 males and 2 females) will battle for bragging rights in which there will only be one male and one female winner.

The programme’s official radio partner is One FM and the promotional partner is Big Tree Outdoor. Meanwhile, idotshirt is the official t-shirt while the official fashion magazine is Citta Bella and the official online fashion magazine is Q-E3. Thanks 8TV, I really love this quality and comfy long-sleeve shirt that I would wear for certain, suitable occasions. It's worth RM120, for short-sleeve is RM100 for both Black or White colour option. Such a coincidence I saw the shop last Saturday during my Health, Beauty & Wellness Convention at Sunway Pyramid and I asked about it after seeing everyone wearing this idotshirt looked real cool at the event.

Created by Media Prima’s Primeworks Studios, the modelling reality show aims at giving wannabe models a golden opportunity to take their dreams to the next level where it serves as the ultimate platform for them to kick-start their career in this field. They will compete during catwalk fashion shows, photo shoots, self-make up and self-styling assignments and video clip shoots.

The programme which has received overwhelming response from viewers, the media and fashion industries is now in its fourth season after six years with Lynn Lim as the host and Shir Chong and Sean Feng as mentors. The last three seasons has seen the series coaching and producing a number of talented young models for the commercial and fashion industries both locally and internationally.

Known for her iconic full lips, Shir Chong is no stranger to the fashion industry. After her eponymous win in the third season of I Wanna Be A Model in 2009, Shir became unstoppable in her modelling career by landing her first-ever magazine cover on Citta Bella Magazine and the cover of the award-winning Glam Magazine, styled by the renowned Cheah Wei Chun.

Meanwhile, Sean Feng, a model from China, became a popular face in the fashion sector soon after he was chosen as one of the Top 3 finalists in the 2008 Shanghai-International Model Search. Since then, he has appeared in numerous magazines such as Esquire, GQ, Men’s Folio, Ellen Men, Harper’s Bazaar and many more. He also became the face of fashion brand advertisements such as Adidas, Converse and Decathlon. In addition, he has modelled for MCM, Lavin, Armani, Dunhill, BOSS and Dolce&Gabbana.

The winners for this season will get a chance to sign a one year contract with international modelling agencies such as 3x Media from Singapore as well as agencies in Shanghai and Hong Kong. They will also have job opportunities with renowned local and international agencies. Just like the previous seasons, participants will need to undergo fitness trainings, catwalk lessons as well as make-up and grooming classes.
