New Zealand - Milford Sound

Milford Sound is a fjord in the southwest of New Zealand's South Island, within Fiordland National Park, Piopiotahi Marien Reserve and the Te Wahipounamu World Heritage site.

It has been judged the world's top travel destination in an international survey (2008 Traveler's Choice Destinations Awards by TripAdvisor) and is acclaimed as New Zealand's most famous tourist destination.

New Zealand is the stunning location where the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy was filmed. Whether you are someone who has simply been awoken to the beauty of New Zealand through the Lord of the Rings film trilogy, the Mirror Lakes is one place we can see beautiful scenery from the reflection of the lakes around here. Almost similar like the one in Jiuzhaigou, China, it's very nice with calm environment.

I'm getting all excited bottling up the fresh spring water from this place called Monkeys Creek(reminds me of my allies of Monkeys+Dragons in Chinese Astrology). Haha...I told all of them to stand where I was standing in between the rocks on this river so that we won't pollute the running water in any way.

All of us were having great time here as we bottled up the pure water, we shouted out loud "Cold" as it was freezingly cold like it just came out from the frozen, freezer ice blocks. Haha...we enjoyed hanging out here for a little break. We tried to finish a few bottles of water here and not long after that, we asked for a restroom stop at the National Park of NZ.

Some of them were not feeling well so they stayed inside the comfortable coach due to the long, hard journey. It's really too hectic and not suited for everyone to travel by this way. But I did asked their partners to get some cold water for them so they won't miss out the fresh water from NZ. It's really fresh, pure and tasted good too.

One of my favourite agenda in Milford Sound was having this buffet lunch during the long cruise ride. Mainly, they served western food like lamb chop, seafood and fried chicken but thank God, they served us rice and spaghetti that I've been looking forward in my NZ daily meal. Tasted good with their local chef from NZ, they're very generous serving us unlimited good food, beverages+desserts with many local fruits served here.

Haha...obviously everyone know the NZ icon fruit is Kiwi fruit and I was enjoying it to the max. The local people who served us food here were very nice, kept pushing us to eat more as they enjoyed seeing us enjoying and finishing our food. My favourite part in enjoying the NZ trip was the buffet eating part as I got to try their local NZ food and their local taste buds, almost like the Oz cruise I had before when I was in Australia for holiday.

Milford Sound sometimes called the eighth wonder of the world which is also the wettest place in New Zealand as it's surrounded by water all over the place. Fiordland’s Milford Sound was carved by glaciers during the ice age since many years ago. This place is really green, clean and serene, it synonym and rhymes anyway.

This is where many scenes from the Lord of the Rings was filmed here including the  scenes at Isengard and Lothlorien. All along the cruise ride to the waterfall, I can see a few seals were sunbathing, jumped into the water(so fun) and swimming around this river that flows through reaching Tasman Sea at the end meet.

It's worth braving a little coldness through this waterfall splashes of Milford Sound natural beauty. It can be appreciated from the air by scenic flight or from the water by boat or sea kayak. From afar, I can feel the excitement of the cooling mist water splashing on my face and I'm standing here at the front cruise for the great view of all for perfect pictures. Well, it's worth my time and effort to reach this far to the end of the South Island for this adventure of a lifetime. 'E noho ra'(kiwi goodbye)!
